You're Intelligence is Stupid!!!

Ok. So just when I think I've seen everything that New York had to offer...

On the way to school yesterday, I saw HALF A HOUSE. I don't mean a house that was being built, or half-destroyed, or even a house that had stairs, but was missing the top floor - o no, all of these things would have been somewhat normal in the world. No. Yesterday I saw a house that only had a top floor. The bottom floor was missing. It was just gone. It hadn't been destroyed - there was no remnant of it - it just wasn't there. Now maybe a floating top part of a house is a normal occurance for New Yorkers to see everyday, but I guess I'm still not completely acclimated...

And on another note - more of the wonders of New York - after many years of dealing with seasonal depression (amongst other things) all by myself - I finally went to my one and only option for help - my college medical center - to inquire about counseling. I didn't expect to see an actual qualified professional - Just anyone, just one appointment, just someone to vomit all of my bitching all over for one half hour and make me feel a little better. And I was promptly turned away.

You see, they are apparently all filled up through next year. This incident completely confirms two of my theories about New York:

1. Everyone in New York is completely miserable.

2. No one here gives a rat's ass about anyone but their own miserable selves - not even the counseling services...

It's a good thing I was only going to make an appointment to vent and deal with a fleeting depression. If I was suicidal and clinically depressed - I would have slit my wrists in the elevator.

Yay New York!
