Leave Something for the Archaeologists
| Tel el Amarna 2003-08-09 5:45 pm Ask and Ye Shall Receive... Again Once again I obey the whims of that smith-god-in-a-smoking-jacket, like some scantily chitoned dryad, terrified of not being invited back to the next swingin party at the temple... I have not done a draft or obeyed any of the "fantasy this-or-that" rules (as if fantasies should be subject to rules...) But I have come up with three bands - and only three, as I am officially thesising now - and like the forge god, I have named them. Would you like to see them? I'll bet you would. Alright, here they are: ECSTASIS Purpose: paralytic and/or euphonic orgasm Vocals: Sarah McLaughlin and Rebecca Knight (the soprano from the Opera Babes) Guitars: Jack White and the Edge (combine Jack White's raw, almost cacophonous sound with the Edge's favorite chorus pedal...) Violins: Nick Cave's violinist from "Nocterama" (absolutely haunting violin) Drums: Larry Mullen (he works well with the Edge, and would make a good backbone for this band.) CANTATE DELL'ARTE Purpose: revamp and rearrangement of 17th and 18th century harpsichord music, and combine it with raw african drums and middle eastern ambient vocals Vocals: Jeff Buckley (while not a castrati, he's a damned amazing counter tenor, and he could take those fast corners in Handel ever so well.) Backing vocals: the female vocalist from Dead Can Dance Harpsichord: Tori Amos Percussion: the Delerium Percussionists Orchestra: The London Philharmonic RECLINABLE REPTILIANS Purpose: Very disturbing lounge music, suitable only for North Vegas circa 1975 Vocals: PJ Harvey Piano: Nick Cave Other instruments (as needed): the Squirril Nut Zippers
